Prithvi Shaw added to Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy squad
The batter Prithvi Shaw suffered a knee injury during the one-day Cup match between Northamptonshire and Durham. He scored 244 runs and 125 runs not out before the injury.
Prithvi Shaw has been sidelined from the action but was set to return to play in the Ranji Trophy 2024 after six months. He was ruled out of the county championship and was under his recovery.
On this occasion, Prithvi Shaw has been cleared his fitness test by the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
“He has been declared fit and can take part in the Ranji Trophy games. The BCCI has informed the MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association) about it,” a BCCI official confirmed.
Prithvi Shaw has been batting in the practice nets at the NCA in Bengaluru. Prithvi Shaw debuted for Northamptonshire County Cricket Club in the One-day Cup 2023 season.
He was the fourth Indian player to be signed by a county franchise this season after Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Arshdeep Singh, and Navdeep Saini. He has played five Tests, Six ODIs and T20Is for India.
He had an impressive performance throughout the season where he completed his 3000 List A runs. He had scored 244 runs from 153 balls against Somerset in the Royal London Cup 50-over match earlier this month.
On the other hand, Mumbai has been successful in the Ranji Trophy 2024 with 3 wins and 1 defeat.
Mumbai and Bengal will be playing the next Ranji Trophy match on February 02 at Eden Gardens.
