During the Australia tour of Sri Lanka 2022, a total f 3 T20I matches, 5 ODI matches, and 2 Test matches are scheduled to play. Out of which visitors Australia won the T20I series while the hosts bagged the ODI series.

In the remaining 2 match Test series, hosts Sri Lanka lost the first Test match by 10 wickets and needs to win the second Test match to avoid whitewash in the Test series. Jayawickrama who missed the first test after being benched will miss the second test after testing COVID19 positive.
