The selectors of the Pakistan Cricket Board are set to announce the T20I squad for the upcoming New Zealand tour of Pakistan 2024 which is set to begin on April 18.
PCB likely to announce Pakistan T20I squad
PCB has revealed that they will be announcing their T20I squad on Tuesday for the upcoming home tour against New Zealand. Moshin Naqvi, the chairman of the PCB officially told the Press on Monday.
“The selection committee has told me that they will announce the Pakistan squad [for the New Zealand series) on the morning of the 9th of April through a press conference,” Naqvi told reporters on Sunday.
The selectors are anticipated to name an 18-member squad for the series providing an opportunity for the players to gain experience before the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
“Usman Khan is definitely under consideration for the squad,” Naqvi said. Babar Azam, Usman Khan, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Shaheen Afridi, and Naseem Shah are the regulars named in the squad.
Agha Salman, Sahibzada Farhan, Irfan Khan Niazi, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Zaman Khan, and Abbas Afridi are also included.
The New Zealand team will travel to Pakistan on April 14 for the T20I series. They will play their first T20I match on April 18 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
