After completing their World Cup campaign, Pakistan is set to play against Australia and New Zealand in the upcoming days. Pakistan is currently in Australia to play in the three-match Test series between December 14 and January 7, 2024.

After completing the Pakistan tour of Australia 2023, they will be playing in the five-match T20I series against New Zealand between January 12 and 21. Pakistan completed their World Cup campaign with four victories and failed to secure the spot in the knock-out stages. With many critics for their performance in the World Cup 2023, significant changes have been made in the management.

The Pakistani board has appointed Gul and Ajmal as the bowling coaches for the Australia and New Zealand tours. The selection committee evaluated players’ performances in the national T20 to determine the final for the upcoming New Zealand T20I series.

The men’s selection committee led by Wahab Riaz attended the meeting on Sunday. Board members like Tauseef Ahmed and Wasim Haider along with chief consultants Kamran Akmal and Rao Iftikhar also attended the meeting. Wasti couldn’t attend the meeting due to health reasons.

Wahab Riaz personally monitored player performances in the current National T20 at various Karachi centers. The squad announcement is scheduled after the National T20 Cup final on December 10.

Recently Lyon praised Babar Azam and talked about the experience he had on facing the former Pakistan skipper. The Off-spinner Nathan Lyon was looking forward to the “big challenge” of facing Pakistan’s No.1 batter.

The bowler is excited about bowling against star Babar Azam, who has an average of 44.38 in 10 Tests against Australia, which includes his stunning 196 runs in Karachi last year. Lyon dismissed Babar at a crucial time in the finals.

Pakistan will be playing the first Test match against Australia between December 14-18, 2023 at Optus Stadium.
