After opening for Sri Lanka during the first ODI match against Afghanistan, Pathum Nissanka smashed 210* runs to top the list of batters with the highest Individual score for Sri Lanka.
Batting first, Pathum Nissanka and Avishka Fernando opened for Sri Lanka where they scored 182 runs for the first wicket. After Avishka was dismissed by Fareed Ahmad for 88 runs on 88 deliveries, Nissanka continued to score a century during his 50th ODI appearance.

Afghanistan bowlers couldn’t contain the opener as he continued to score with his bat with 18 fours and 6 sixes. Fareed Ahmad dismissed two batters Avishka and Samarawickrama in the match while Nabi dismissed Kusal Mendis for 16 runs.
After scoring 210* runs, he has the highest individual score for Sri Lanka. He surpassed the scores of Jayasuriya who scored 189 runs during the match against India in October 2000.
