Sri Lanka Cricket(SLC) announced their 16-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against India set to kick start on August 2.
During the India tour of Sri Lanka 2024, a total of three T20I and three ODIs were scheduled to be played between July 27 and August 7. India sealed the series victory with the victory in the first two games.
On the same day of the final T20I match, SLC announced their squad for the ODI series. As of T20I squad, Charith Asalanka will lead the ODI squad.
Opening batter Nishan Madushka has received his maiden ODI call-up after his performance in the red ball cricket. The 24-year-old made his international debut in April 2023 for the Sri Lanka test side.
Madushka is likely to remain the backup opener for Sri Lanka with Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis expected to bat at the top of the order. Matheesha Pathirana made his return to the ODI squad after missing the Bangladesh series due to fitness issues.
Dushmantha Chameera, who was ruled out of the T20I series due to bronchitis and respiratory infection will miss the ODI leg of the tour too, as will Nuwan Thushara, who fractured his thumb during the training ahead of the beginning of the bilaterals.

The first ODI of the India tour of Sri Lanka 2024 will be played on August 2 in R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo with the second and third ODI matches set to be played on August 4 and 7 in the same venue.
