Matheesha Pathirana and Dilshan Madushanaka will be ruled out due to injury for the upcoming three-match ODI series against India.
Sri Lanka Cricket has revealed that “Madushanka suffered a Grade 2 hamstring injury on his left leg during the team’s fielding practice. Pathirana has suffered a mild sprain on his right shoulder while diving to take a catch during the Third T20 match vs. India,” the statement added.

Sri Lanka is also without Dushmantha Chameera who was ruled out due to illness and Nuwan Thusara missed the T20Is due to a finger fracture as well.
Sri Lanka is set to bring in uncapped right-arm seamer Mohamed Shiraz into the squad, team manager Mahinda Halangoda confirmed in the media. The board confirmed a second uncapped right-arm seamer Eshan Malinga was added to the squad.
Meanwhile, the left-arm fast bowler has sustained a hamstring injury while training, said Halangoda. He played only one match in the T20I series. Recently, Charith Asalanka has been named as the captain for the ODI series, replacing Kusal Mendis who led the side in ODI World Cup 2023.
The first ODI will begin on August 02 and all three matches will be played at R. Premadasa Stadium.
