    Pat Cummins Sold To SRH: The IPL 2024 Auction is scheduled to be hosted on December 19 at Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. A total of 333 cricketers will go under the gavel during the event.

    Pat Cummins Sold To SRH: Out of 333 players, 214 are Indians and 119 are overseas players of which 2 players are from associate nations. The participating 10 teams have a total of 77 slots to fill of which 30 can be overseas players.

    ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 winning captain Pat Cummins registered his name in the IPL 2024 Auction players list at a base price of INR 2 crore.

    Australian allrounder Pat Cummins was brought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping record-breaking INR 20.50 Crores in the IPL 2024 auction. Pat Cummins becomes the first player in IPL history to cross INR 20 Crores mark.

    Pat Cummins made his IPL debut in 2014 for Kolkata Knight Riders, to whom he returned for IPL 2015.

    He was not involved in IPL 2016 and played for Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2017. He was absent from IPL 2018 and IPL 2019. In the IPL 2020 auction, Cummins was bought back by Knight Riders for INR 15.5 crore (A$2.8 million), making him one of the most expensive overseas players in IPL auction history.

    Cummins opted out of IPL 2023 stating that he wanted to focus on his commitments with the national team, including the Ashes series and the ODI World Cup.

    Pat Cummins so far played 42 IPL matches and bagged 45 wickets and scored 379 runs with a highest of 66 runs.

    IPL 2024 Auction Rules

    As BCCI decides to host a mini-auction for the 2024 season, franchises have the advantage of retaining the majority of their players compared to the mega auction.

    • No franchise will be allowed to buy a player beyond their purse balance.
    • Each team has to spend at least 75% of their total amount.
    • The option of the Right to Match (RTM) card will not be available to franchises.
    • The number of players in each team should not exceed 25 while each squad should have a minimum of 18 players.
    • According to the IPL committee rules, each franchise can have 25 players in their squad, out of which a maximum of 8 can be foreign players. In Playing 11, each team can have a maximum of 4 overseas players in the mix.
