Pakistan Qualification Scenario For ODI World Cup 2023 Semifinals

Pakistan Qualification Scenario: With 4 victories in 8 group matches, Pakistan holds 5th spot in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 Points Table. Pakistan will play their final group match against England and are in need of winning the game in a huge difference in order to pump their NRR to qualify for the semi-finals.

India, South Africa and Australia have already qualified for the ICC Men’s 2023 World Cup semifinals while England, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Netherlands have been eliminated from the semifinal race.

Three teams including New Zealand, Pakistan and Afghanistan are fighting hard for the 4th spot in the points table. While New Zealand have played all their 9 group matches, Pakistan and Afghanistan are still left to play one game each.

Among Pakistan and Afghanistan, Pakistan has a higher chance of making it to the semifinals. Though Pakistan maintains a positive NRR compared to Afghanistan’s Negative NRR, they need to beat England in a dramatic way to move beyond New Zealand in NRR.

  • If Pakistan Scores 300 they need to bowled out England to 13
