New Zealand announces the squad for their upcoming tour of Pakistan 2021. The same 15 men will also play a T20 series against India before the T20 World Cup.

New Zealand’s four-month Asian sojourn will commence with the five-match T20I series against Bangladesh, with the team set to depart on the 23rd of August.
But the Kiwis picked a separate squad for the same and the Pakistan tour, where Tom Latham will lead. Greg Pocknall will travel with them as the head coach for their Bangladesh and Pakistan tours, while bowling coach Shane Jurgensen will join later ahead of the Pakistan T20 series.
Ross Taylor was selected for the three ODIs in Pakistan but, with the brief nature of the one-week series and the length of quarantine protocols, it was mutually agreed he would remain at home to prepare for the Indian Test tour and upcoming home summer.
The first BlackCaps squad will depart for Bangladesh on the 23rd of this month and the players from the Test tour to India will return home and emerge from MIQ just before Christmas.

NZC chief executive David White said changing times demanded changing strategies, with player welfare and support now one of the professional sport’s biggest challenges, particularly in the current pandemic environment.
“The need to safeguard the well-being of our players and support staff is now very real, and we’ve endeavored to do this by carefully managing their workloads over this winter’s massive playing program,” said White in an official release.
