Niki Prasad will be captaining the India squad for the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 in Malaysia.
Prasad who recently captained the side to the inaugural title to the Women’s Asia Cup in Kuala Lumpur, will be leading the side once again aiming for the World Cup title.
The squad has retained 14 players from the Asia Cup winning team, with Sanika appointed as the vice-captain. The only change fast bowler Vaishnavi S replacing Nandhana who has been named on reserves alongside with Ira J and Anadi T.
The defending champions India, have been placed in Group A along with Malaysia, West Indies and Sri Lanka.

The 16 team competition features four groups of four teams each. The top three teams from each group will advance to the super six stage with the increase in wins, points and Net Run Rate (NRR) from their matches against fellow qualifiers.
Group 1: Top three teams from Groups A and D
Group 2: Top three teams from Groups B and C
In the Super six stages, each team will play two games against opponents of corresponding groups which finished at the different positions.
The top two sides from the super six stages will qualify for the semi-finals. The semi finals are set to take place on January 31, 2025 while the finals will be played on February 02, 2025.
India’s first match of the group stages will be played on January 19, 2025 against West Indies U-19 at Bayuemas Oval, Pandamaran.
