    The Netherlands is scheduled to play in the 28th World Cup match against Bangladesh on October 28 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Winning the toss, the Netherlands chose to bat. Vikramjit Singh and Max Odowd opened the innings for the Netherlands while Shoriful Islam opened the bowling attack.

Barresi scored 41 runs and helped the side to get back into competition. With the dismissal of Barresi by Mustafizur, Netherlands was down to the last seven wickets scoring 63 runs on the 14th over.

    With a target of 230, Litton Das and Tanzid Hasan opened the innings while Aryan Dutt opened the bowling attack. The openers failed to create an impression as they were sent out for 3 and 15 runs respectively. Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 35 runs and was sent out by Bas de Leede.

    With the dismissal of Shanto, Shakib, and Mushifiqur for low figures by van Meekeren, Bangladesh’s middle order collapsed which led to the defeat of the side.

    Mahmudullah scored 20 runs while Mahedi Hasan scored 17 runs. Paul van Meekeren dismissed four wickets while Bas de Leede scored 2 wickets. With Rahman’s 20 runs, Bangladesh scored 142 runs in the 43rd over of their innings losing all 10 wickets.

    With this victory, the Netherlands joins the list of biggest wins for an Associate nation with 87 runs. Ireland beat Bangladesh in the World Cup 2004 with 74 runs and stands second while Kenya beat West Indies during the match in World Cup 1996 with 73 runs difference and stands third in the list.

    Bangladesh defeated Pakistan in the World Cup 1999 with 62 runs difference and stands fourth in the list.
