Australia spinner Nathan Lyon has revealed that India’s young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has sledged him in the Perth Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
During the second innings of the test, Jaiswal smashed a sensational hundred which helped the visitors to secure a 295-run win.
Lyon revealed that Jaiswal walked up to him after scoring his century and called him old. The 37-year-old Lyon being Australia’s third-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket only who is only Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath revealed Jaiswal‘s hilarious response to his bowling.
“Young Jaiswal, he said that you legend, but you old, he said that to me when I was bowling. He said that to me when he was muscling about at 120, but ya, it’s all good fun. I told him that,” said Nathan Lyon ahead of the Pink ball test in Adelaide.
Meanwhile speaking to reporters on wednesday, Lyon lamented Josh Hazlewood’s absence for the second test of the series.
“It’s pretty disappointing. The other day when he told me, about four or five days ago now, that he had a little side issue. But, yeah, the quality of a person that Josh is.”
“He is getting around everyone, making sure that everyone’s right here first, but he’s also doing his rehab and training ball.”
“You’ve seen him doing his training tonight, and I think he did a 90-minute rehab session yesterday, so he’s the ultimate team man. To be honest mate, he puts everyone first, and you will see that this week.”
With Australia’s playing 11 revealed, it will be interesting how India will line up their playing 11. The second test of the series will begin on December 06 at Adelaide Oval.
