Nathan Lyon Praises Ashwin on Joining 500 Test Wickets Club
Indian senior spinner Ashwin who bagged 499 wickets before the 3rd Test bagged his 500th wicket by dismissing Zak Crawley in the 14th over. Following his achievement, one of the partners in the same record, Nathan Lyon praised Ashwin and posted a video on his official X handle.

The 3rd Test of England tour of India 2024 was scheduled to be played between February 15 to 19 at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot.
Winning the toss India decided to bat first where India’s top order batters struggled to face England bowlers and lost 3 wickets for 33 runs. With Rohit Sharma and Jadeja’s 204-run partnership, India scored 237 runs for the 4th wicket.
Mark Wood broke the partnership by dismissing Rohit Sharma for 131 runs. Following his dismissal, debutant Sarfaraz Khan scored 62 runs along with Jadeja and pushed India beyond the 300 runs mark.
Following, Sarfaraz Khan’s dismissal for 62 runs, India loses Kuldeep Yadav and Jadeja for 4 and 112 runs respectively. Another debutant Dhruv Jurel scored 46 runs and pushed India’s score beyond 400 runs.
India scored 445 runs for 10 wickets loss while England scored 89 runs for the 1st wicket. Ashwin broke the partnership by dismissing Zak Crawley for 15 runs. Later Siraj dismissed Ollie Pope for 39 runs and bagged the second wicket of the innings.
England cricket team was awarded 5 penalty runs after Indian batter Ravichandran Ashwin ran on the pitch which made England start their inning with 5/0.
Though England lost a couple of wickets in the final session, the visitors crossed the 200 runs mark with Ben Duckett’s 118 balls 133 runs.
