While there is no word on a replacement for the third ODI which South Africa leads 1-0 following a 139 victory in the first, CSA will announce a replacement for the test series in Dhaka and Chattogram later.
The bowling options for the test squad are Kagiso Rabada, Dane Paterson and Wiaan Mulder.
Rested due to a soft tissue injury, Tony de Zorzi will miss the second ODI against Ireland. De Zorzi sustained the soft tissue injury while attempting to field a ball that rolled out of the sandy outfield during Wednesday’s first ODI.
De Zorzi is in the test squad for Bangladesh and looks set to open against Aiden Markram.
There’s no other acknowledged opening batsman available so Bavuma’s order looks like being captain at number three, then Tristan Stubbs, David Bedingham either Ryan Rickelton or Kyle Verreynee as wicketkeeper and uncapped Matthew Breetzke as backup.
