The Young spin bowler Nahida Akter has been selected as ICC Women’s Player of the Month for November 2023 and became the first-ever Bangladesh women’s player to win the award.

Bangladesh’s slow left-arm spinner Nahida Akter was named in the ICC Women’s Player of the Month nominees for November 2023 along with Fargana Hoque and Pakistan Spinner Sadia Iqbal.
Akter whooped seven ODI wickets with an average of 14.14 and was the key player in setting up an important series win for Bangladesh in November. She was awarded with the Players of the Series award.
The player was delighted to get the award as she was the first Bangladesh women player to win the ICC Women’s Player of the Award.
“This is a moment to cherish,” Akter said. “To be recognised by such a distinguished panel of cricket experts means a lot and winning the ICC Women Player of the Month award will be a massive source of inspiration and motivation for me.”

Bangladesh were dismissed for 81 runs during their first match against Pakistan where the latter won the match. Nahida whooped three wickets before suffering defeat at the hands of Pakistan.
During the second ODI match, she whooped the crucial wicket to break the partnership between Diana Baig and Najiha Alvi where the match concluded in a draw. Nahida bowled the super over and dismissed two wickets giving only seven runs. The batters chased the target and equaled the series 1-1.
During the final game, she dismissed three wickets for 26 runs and helped restrict Pakistan to 166/9. She was the highest wicket-taker for Bangladesh in T20Is and the third-highest for their side in ODIs.
On the other hand, Travis Head was named as the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for November 2023.
