Bowler Nahid Rana, 22, has played a crucial role in gaining an advantage for the side in the second test of the Bangladesh tour of the West Indies 2024.
He picked a maiden five-wicket haul in test cricket to bundle out West Indies for 146 which allowed the visitors to take a 18-run lead on day 03.
Shadman Islam (46) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (42), Bangladesh scored 193 for 5 by the time Stumps were called, stretching their lead to 211 and putting them in control.

West Indies went from 85/1 to 146 all-out as they stood no chance against the pace attack of Bangladesh and now walk into Day 04 with a huge disadvantage.
Bangladesh were off to a quick start in their second innings, as their batters wasted no time to extend the lead, as they scored 193 for 5 with Jaker Ali and Taijul Islam at the crease for them.
West Indies were in good position with 70/1 on the day 02 before Rana cracked the batting line up. He picked Kraigg Brathwaite early on Day 03 and continued to dismiss Kavem Hodge.
Taskin was knocked by Alick Athanaze for a single digit score. Left arm spinner Taijul Islam was introduced into the attack and he got the wicket of Justing Greaves.
Hasan Mahmud replaced Tasking from the other end and got Joshua Da Silva out lbw. Carty scored 40 runs from 115 balls.
Rana got rid of Alzarri Joseph and by the end of session 01, West Indies were down to last two wickets for 135. Mehidy Hasan removed Shamar Joseph in from of the Stumps early and Rana dismissed Kemar Roach lbw to complete his maiden fifer in test cricket and bowl out West Indies for 146 in 65 overs.
Rana is the third Bangladesh pacer to take more five wickets or more in an innings against West Indies. However Bangladesh completed the day 03 with a score of 193 runs losing 5 wickets at Sabina Park.
