Bangladesh fast bowler Nahid Rana is hoping for a win in the upcoming test series against India after his impressive performance against Pakistan.
Rana claimed four wickets for 44 runs in the second innings of the final test in Rawalpindi, aiding Bangladesh in securing a 2-0 series win.
Rana shared his thoughts in a video post by Bangladesh Cricket on X. “Obviously we are well prepared for the India series. We have started training. The more we are prepared, the better we will be in execution during the matches,” Rana said on X.

“India is a good team but the team that plays better cricket will win. We will see when we go there.”
Rana drew attention by bowling at speeds exceeding 150 kph during his Test debut against Sri Lanka in March. He continued to make an impact in Pakistan, picking with an early breakthrough including the wicket of Babar Azam.
“Before leaving, I had said that I wanted to achieve something for my country, and it feels great to have delivered on what was expected of me,” said Rana.

He made his first-class debut in October 2021 and quickly made a mark taking 32 wickets in the following season.
In the National Cricket League 2022-23, Rana and Sumon Khan achieved a rare feat with both taking over 30 wickets which has not been achieved by fast bowlers in 11 years in the domestic first-class tournament.
“I don’t want to be like anyone else. I want to create my own identity and be known as Nahid Rana of Bangladesh,” Rana said.
“I haven’t followed any particular bowler. I’ve watched and learned from everyone — my seniors and those I grew up watching,” he signed off.
India are top of the WTC points table for the ongoing cycle and will look to consolidate their position against the Lions. Bangladesh has secured the no.4 points table after their historic win against Pakistan.
With BCCI announcing India’s squad for the 1st test, it will be interesting to see how Bangladesh names the squad and reacts to the opponents’ team.
The first test between India and Bangladesh will be played between September 19 and 23 at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, while the second test will be played at Green Park from September 27 onwards.
