As per IPL 2024 Schedule, Mumbai Indians will lock horns with Gujarat Titans to play their first game of the season on March 24 in Ahmedabad.
On March 7, the Mumbai Indians and Skechers unveiled the 2024 season’s jersey designed by the renowned designer Monisha Jaising.
Regarding the jersey launch the official statement reads “Drawing inspiration from the vibrant hues of Mumbai Indians’ iconic blue and gold, Jaising has designed the jersey to symbolise steadfast dedication and allegiance.
Inspired by initialism, the design is derived by using the initial M placed in a grid format on an art deco pattern with a play of thin and thick lines in shades of royal blue reflecting a precise and clean geometry.
While royal blue signifies confidence and strength, Jaising has used imperial blue to exude empathy and dependability – all emotions that stand true for the Mumbai Indians and its fans.
Marrying this is a dash of gold that harnesses energy and power from the sun through a racing graphic along the sides of the jersey meant to emphasise the powerful torso of the champion player”.
Speaking on the unveiling, a Mumbai Indians spokesperson said, “As our players don the iconic blue and gold jersey colours, they carry with them the hopes and dreams of our MI Paltan, fuelled by the spirit of ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’.
The jersey is a badge of honour, a symbol of pride for all who wear it, as they express their love for the team while carrying a piece of its illustrious legacy with them.”
Designer Monisha Jaising said, “The spirit of Mumbai & MI has always been a force to be reckoned with, and it lies in the relentless energy, diversity, undying optimism, the heart and the hard work that drives its favourite team and fans.
It is this very essence that I have tried to capture in the design, inspiring both players and fans, knowing that they carry with them the heart of Mumbai and Mumbai Indians.”
