MS Dhoni has proved that age is just a number after making a stunning catch to dismiss Gujarat’s Vijay Shankar in the 7th match of the IPL 2024 schedule.

MS Dhoni took a brilliant catch behind the stumps stunning everyone in Stadium during the match against Gujarat Titans on March 26. With fans not seeing MS Dhoni in action til now in this IPL season, his dive has made fans go berserk in the Chepauk Stadium.
During Daryl Mitchell’s over, Vijay Shankar edged the ball in the third ball where Dhoni made a full-stretch dive to dismiss the batter. Replays showed that the ball traveled at quite a speed to which MS Dhoni responded within 0.6 seconds to complete the catch.

Coming to the match, CSK batted first where Rachin Ravindra stormed GT bowler with his impressive fours and sixes. He smashed 46 runs on 20 deliveries and the other opener Ruturaj Gaikwad also scored 46 runs which helped the side to have an impressive start.
Shivam Dube had an impressive innings smashing 51 runs from 23 balls and with the help of other batters score, CSK was able to score 206 runs losing 6 wickets in 20 overs.
With the target of 207 runs, GT opened their innings where Shubman Gill was sent out with 8 runs. Despite his early dismissal, Wriddhiman Saha and Sai Sudharsan provided the required run rate for the side.
But with their dismissal, Gujarat Titans had no chance against CSK’s bowling attacks, as Deepak Chahar, Mustafizur and Tushar Deshpande picked two wickets each.
Finally, Chennai contained Gujarat for 143 runs and secured victory by 63 runs. With this victory, CSK gained the top position in the IPL 2024 points table. Mustafizur Rahman is currently the leading wicket-taker in the tournament with six wickets in two matches.
Chennai will play their first home-away match against Delhi Capitals on March 31 at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium.
