Mohammed Siraj Takes Charge as New DSP of Telangana

The Indian cricketer Mohammed Siraj has been appointed as the deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Telangana.

Siraj assumed office at the Telangana Director General of Police in the presence of Telangana DGP Jitender along with other high-ranking officials.

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy announced in July a residential plot and a government job for Siraj when the latter met him after India’s T20 World Cup victory in Barbados.

Revanth Reddy congratulated Siraj “for displaying his amazing talent in international cricket.”

Mohammed Siraj did not have any necessary educational qualifications for the job but was granted an exception.

“For a Group-I job, the required educational qualification is a degree. Siraj has passed intermediate (12th class) but we have given the exemption to provide him the Group-I job,” the CM said.
