    Mohammed Siraj reclaims No.1 Spot in ODI bowling rankings in Asia Cup finals

    The Indian bowler Mohammed Siraj has topped the ICC Men’s ODI bowling rankings by surpassing the Australian Player Josh Hazelwood and New Zealand Cricketer Trent Boult.

    The Indian bowler Mohammed Siraj is back as the No.1 ODI bowler in the World after the finals of the Asia Cup 2023 where he dismissed 6 wickets. This is the second time he has topped the table. Previously he claimed no.1 spot during the period between January and March 2023 before being displaced by Josh Hazlewood.

    Mohammed Siraj has climbed 8 positions in the rankings, following the ten-wicket dismissal in the continental event at an average of 12.20. His performance has been highlighted with his spell dismissing 6 wickets for 21 runs where India folded Sri Lanka for 50 runs which becomes his career best. He has achieved a four-wicket over feat which has been only achieved three times in men’s ODI history before.

    Mohammed Siraj had played a total of 29 ODI matches where he dismissed a total of 53 wickets with an average of 10.11 and a economy of 4.76.

    Other Afghanistan spinners like Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan made it into the top five after their performance in the Asia Cup. Josh Hazlewood had placed in the No.2 position and Trent Boult had completed in the third place.

    Despite his impressive performance, Kuldeep Yadav had dropped from 6th position to 9th position. He took nine wickets during his Asia Cup Campaign with an average of 11.44.

    Keshav Maharaj moves up from 25th to 15th position after helping South Africa have victory in the five-match ODI series against Australia. He dismissed eight wickets in the series with an average of 16.87 including his best performance of 4 for 33 in the decider match.

    On the other hand, South African batter Heinrich Klaasen has jumped 20 places to secure a NO.9 position in the rankings. He had an impressive score of 174 runs on just 83 balls against Australia in the fourth ODI series on the home ground.

    The England player Dawid Malan has moved to the 13th position after scoring 277 runs in the ODI series against New Zealand. He has an average of 92.33 with a strike rate of 105.72 and he is England’s highest-ranked batter. The top three positions remain unchanged with Babar Azam at No.1, Shubman Gill in 2nd position, and Rassie Van der Dussen in the third position.
