India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj gave his T20 World Cup 2024 winner’s medal to his mother Shabana Begum on July 05 after reaching Hyderabad. He received a hearty welcome back home after winning the World Cup in Barbados as fans gathered on the roads of Hyderabad.

The image showed his mother whom the cricketer often credited for her crucial support in his cricketing career, wearing the T20 World Cup winners’ medal.

Having lost his father in 2020, Siraj’s gesture was a heartfelt expression of gratitude towards his mother, highlighting the important role she played in his life and career.

Notably, India returned home on Thursday, July 04 on a chartered flight after being trapped in Barbados for three days due to a Hurricane threat at Barbados. After arriving at Delhi airport, the Indian cricket team got a grand welcome in Delhi with fans gathered at the airport to see the World Champions.

After attending celebrations in Delhi and Mumbai, Siraj finally returned home to be with his family. In a heartwarming gesture, the right-arm bowler made his mother Shabana wear his winner’s medal and shared the image on his social media handle followed by several heart emojis. The image has been going viral on social media with fans loving the adorable gesture by the star cricketer.

Siraj has played only three matches in the tournament and picked a wicket. The right-handed bowler didn’t leak runs bowling at an economy of 5.18. Earlier, the Indian team was hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi Stadium in Delhi for breakfast where they had a funny conversation with PM Modi. Following that, a road parade was organized by the BCCI in Mumbai for the fans to get a close look at their favorite stars.
