Mohammad Amir has announced his retirement from international cricket after Imad Wasim announced his retirement on December 13.
Throughout his career, Amir has picked 271 wickets and 1,179 runs across all formats. One of his most notable achievements was his exceptional performance in the Champions Trophy final against India, dismissing key batters Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan.
Both cricketers represented in this year’s T20 World Cup, held in the USA and West Indies.
“After careful consideration, I have taken the difficult decision to retire from international cricket. These decisions are never easy but are inevitable. I feel this is the right time for the next generation to take the baton and elevate Pakistan Cricket to new heights!” Amir tweeted.
