In the pursuit of chasing the target of 232 runs, Moeen Ali smashed hattrick sixes during the IPL 2024 match against Gujarat Titans on May 10 at Ahmedabad.
After suffering early dismissals in the match, Chennai Super Kings got back into the competition with impressive knocks from Daryl Mitchell and Moeen Ali.
Chennai has secured victory against Gujarat Titans in their previous encounter in the 2024 season and looking for a victory at Ahmedabad hoping to secure a spot in the playoffs.

Coming to the match, Chennai Super Kings won the toss and opted to bowl. Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill opened the innings for GT where their partnership score helped the side to cross 150+ runs for the first wicket.
Sai Sudharsan smashed 52 runs on 32 deliveries and became the fastest Indian batter to reach 1000 IPL runs. He did it in the 25th innings, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar and Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Both Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan smashed centuries in the 17th over. They crossed the 200-run mark in the over. Sudharsan smashed 103 runs in 51 deliveries including 5 fours and 7 sixes while Shubman Gill scored 104 runs in 55 deliveries including 9 fours and 6 sixes.
In the 18th over, Tushar Deshpande dismissed Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill in the 2nd and 6th balls. Finally, Gujarat Titans scored 231 runs losing three wickets in 20 overs.
With the target of 232 runs, CSK started their innings where openers Rachin Ravindra and Ajinkya Rahane were sent out for one run while Umesh Yadav bagged the wicket of Ruturaj for a duck.
By the end of the third over, CSK lost three wickets for 10 runs. But Chennai got back into competition with the scores from Daryl Mitchell and Moeen Ali.
Daryl Mitchell smashed a fifty and scored 63 runs in 34 deliveries while Moeen Ali smashed fifty in 31 deliveries. With the dismissal of Daryl Mitchell, CSK scored 125 runs by the end of the 13th over.
On the other hand, Moeen Ali scored 56 runs in 36 deliveries and was sent out by Mohit Sharma. Shivam Dube scored 21 runs while Ravindra Jadeja scored 18 runs before being dismissed by 21 and 18 runs.
MS Dhoni made an impressive performance in the match as he scored 26 runs in 11 balls which included one four and 3 sixes with a strike rate of 236.36. Finally, Chennai Super Kings lost eight wickets to score 196 runs in 20 overs and lost the match by 35 runs.
