One of the Australia’s key bowlers Mitchell Starc has once again made an impressive opening for Australia in their bowling inning. Starc dismissed Bangladesh’s opening batter Tanzid Hasan in the first over and made an early breakthrough in their first Super 8 game of the tournament.
The unbeaten Australia was scheduled to face Bangladesh to play the 44th match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 on June 21 in Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua.
The clash will mark the respective team’s first appearance in the Super 8 round. Australia is one of the few teams to remain unbeaten in the group stage. Australia qualified for the Super 8 stage after winning all four matches of the group stage. Bangladesh on the other hand qualified for the Super 8 stage with three victories in the group stage.
Bangladesh’s only defeat in the group stage came against South Africa when they lost the game by 4 runs.
Australia decided to bowl first after winning the toss where Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das opened the batting attack for Bangladesh. After a couple of dot balls in the first two deliveries, Mitchell Starc bowled a fullish length ball while Tanzid Hasan decided to stay back to block but the ball trimmed the cue end and deflected onto the middle stump.
