Australian star pacer Mitchell Starc secured a five-wicket haul during the first innings of the Pinkball test during the Border Gavaskar trophy.
Batting first, India started their innings where Starc, Boland and Cummins destroyed the visitor’s batting line with KL Rahul being the highest run scorer with 37 runs.
After Mitchell Starc dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal for a golden duck, KL Rahul and Shubman Gill tried to stabilize the innings with a partnership of 69 runs.
But after the dismissal of KL Rahul, India lost back-to-back wickets with Virat Kohli dismissed by Mitchell Starc and Shubman Gill dismissed by Boland for 31 runs.

Meanwhile Rishabh Pant, Ravichandran Ashwin secured 21 and 22 runs before being dismissed by Cummins and Starc.
Mitchell Starc went on to dismiss Harshit Rana for a duck leaving Nitish reddy and Bumrah at the crease.
Australia has incredible dominant in the Day-night test format since its inceptin, winning 11 out of 12 Pink-ball tests. The sole defeat in this format occurred against the West Indies in early 2024.
Meanwhile India’s track record in Day-Nights has been notably successful, with victories in three out of their four matches using the pink ball, achieving a 75% success rate and their sole defeat came in Adelaide last tour.
India’s victories in pink-ball matches include triumphs against Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and their latest success against Australia at Eden Gardens in 2023.
Australian batters has a good record in Pink-ball tests with Marnus Labuschagne leads the pack with 894 runs in eights matches, with an impressing average of 63.85.
Meanwhile Mitchell Starc dominates the pink ball format with 66 wickets in 23 innings at an impressive strike rate of 36.5. Nathan Lyon, the second highest wicket taker after Starc stands out as the only spinner to claim more than 20 wickets in Day night tests.
