Michael Vaughan Praises Babar Azam

The match attracts more negative comments than positive particularly right after former England captain Michael Vaughan lauded Babar Azam as the best batter in the world across formats.

Playing his 44th Test match, Babar Azam scored a much-needed century in Pakistan’s first innings which marked his 8th Test ton.

In the first Test match, winning the toss England opted to bat first and posted a total of 657 runs for 10 wickets where Zak Crawley, Duckett, Ollie Pope, and Harry Brook scored centuries on the first day. In replying Pakistan scored 579 after losing all their players.

Babar Azam remained the team’s top run-getter after scoring 136 runs from 168 balls before being dismissed by Will Jacks. In a manner of praising Babar Azam’s century, Michael Vaughan posted a tweet that draws the attention of many cricket fans with both positive and negative comments.

Even Ashwin would have scored a triple hundred on this deck. I have nothing against Babar, but this knock means nothing. And best across all formats? Looks like you’ve been kept busy not watching other games when England doesn’t play.

Making a step ahead one of the Twitter users dug up Micheal Vaughan’s 2019 tweet where he praised Virat Kohli as the best batsman across all formats.

One user said that this is a dead rubber wicket which makes it difficult for the bowlers to take wickets.

The second Test match of the series will be played on December 09 at Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan while the last Test will be played on December 17.
