    With the ODI World Cup 2023 set to begin on October 5, former Michael Vaughan picks his favorite teams for the World Cup semifinals.

    The World Cup 2023 is set to be hosted by India and it will be the last of its kind as World Cup 2027 will be played in the new format. The teams have arrived in India and are currently playing in the warm-up matches.

    Many cricket experts have picked up their favorite teams to advance to the semifinals in the World Cup and the former England cricketer has also made his picks for the semifinals in the World Cup 2023.

    He has picked England, India, Pakistan, and South Africa to advance to the semi-finals. He took x to post his picks for the semi-finals saying, “Can’t wait for the World Cup to start this week .. My 4 semi-finalists will be … England, South Africa, India and Pakistan,” Vaughan said in a post on X.

    England will be starting their World Cup Campaign against New Zealand which was the replicate of the finals match in the World Cup 2019 at the Narendra Modi Stadium on October 5.  Pakistan will play against the Netherlands in their first match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on October 6.

    On the other hand, South Africa who are yet to win an ODI World Cup will be clashing with Sri Lanka at Arun Jaitley Stadium on October 7, and the hosts India will be playing against five-time champions Australia on October 8 at MA Chidambaram Stadium.

    The last group stage will be played between India and the Netherlands on November 12. The top four teams will advance to the semifinals which are scheduled to play on November 15 and 16.

    “It’s quite clear to me .. Whoever beats #India will win the WC .. #INDvAUS .. India’s batting lineup on Indian pitches is ridiculous .. Plus they have all the bowling options covered .. it’s only the pressure of the burden that could stop them,” Vaughan had posted on X.

    England and Bangladesh are set to play their second match of the Warmup games at Barsapara Stadium and New Zealand and England are set to play their second warmup match on October 2 at Greenfield Stadium. India will be playing the second and final match of their ICC Warmup games against the Netherlands on October 3 at Greenfield Stadium.
