Former Australian batter and Chennai batting coach Michael Hussey praised CSK Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad saying that he has not changed after his captaincy stint. Hussey said that Ruturaj is committed as always even after his captaincy with his desire to improve day after day.
Before the start of the IPL 2024 campaign, MS Dhoni handed the CSK captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad and the new captain has revealed that MS Dhoni has hinted at the captaincy change during the 2023 season itself.

while speaking at the pre-match conference, Michael Hussey said, “I think he has been fantastic, if I am being honest. He is still the same person, that’s what I have been looking for whether captaincy changed him as a person or character.
“But I think he has been very consistent. He has gone about his own preparation in a very similar way,” said Hussey.
“He has still got a great support system. MS Dhoni is still supporting him, he has got Stephen Fleming. Myself, as a batting coach, fully support him and all his teammates. I think he is doing a wonderful job so far.
“I think he is very calm and measured on the field. He is very good with his strategies and bowling changes. I think he is doing a great job so far and he has got a great support system. These are my observations so far,” he added.
Ruturaj has not made an impressive show in the ongoing season but scored 62 runs in three matches they played. Currently, Chennai Super Kings has secured the third position in the IPL 2024 points table.
The 18th match of the IPL 2024 schedule will kickstart at 07:30 PM IST at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.
