Mumbai Indians owner Nita Ambani made her presence in Arun Jaitley Stadium during the side’s match against Royal Challengers where the former suffered a 7-wicket loss.

She was seen in public after her son Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding ceremony in Jamnagar. Mumbai Indians’ official handle posted a picture of Nita Ambani and captioned,

“Mrs. Nita Ambani is in the house for MI vs RCB.” Nita Ambani came to support Harmanpreet Kaur-led MI for the last fixture of the league stage before they advanced to the playoff of the tournament.

Coming to the match, Mumbai Indians batted first posting 113 runs losing all 10 wickets in the 19th over. Despite Hayley Matthews and Sanjeevan Sanjana having a decent start for Mumbai, the side failed to score runs against RCB bowlers.

Ellyse Perry created havoc in the MI batting line-up bagging six wickets. With a target of 114 runs, RCb started their innings where Ellyse Perry scored 40* runs on 38 deliveries while Rich Gosh joined Perry to put up an individual score of 26 runs helping the side to win the match in the 15th over itself.

“A full stadium and what a platform for our girls to perform. I was just watching this, and I said these girls are getting to play with the best of the best in the world, and it is such a heart-warming feeling like I just saw Sajana getting the award now.”

“Sajana is a graduate in political science. Her father is an autorickshaw driver, and she chose to play cricket. So I hope this sets an example for parents to let their girls choose what they want to be,” said Nita Ambani.

Despite losing the match Mumbai Indians stand second in the points table with five wins out of eight matches they played.

With RCB qualified for the Playoff, the match between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Giants will decide the table topper.

As per the rules, the table topper will directly advance to the finals while the second and third-position franchises will be playing in an eliminator round to get a finalist to play in the finals against Table toppers.

Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Giants will be playing in the last group stage match of the WPL 2024 schedule on March 13 at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
