The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has revealed that Mehidy Hasan will be leading the squad for the three-match ODI series in Bangladesh’s tour of the West Indies.
Mushifiqur Rahim and Najmul Hossain who missed the West Indies tests were unlikely to feature in the ODIs as they were recovering from their respective injuries while the team management was sweating over Towhid Hridoy after he sustained a groin injury while playing football.
“All-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz will now lead the Bangladesh side in ODIs for the first time in the absence of Najmul Hossain Shanto who is still recovering from a groin injury,” BCB said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Shanto is still recovering from a groin injury and in his absence Hridoy will be also unavailable due to groin injuries.

Fast bowler Nahid Rana, who impressed during his debut against Afghanistan has retained his place in the team.
“Fellow left-hander Zakir Hasan, who was in the team in last month’s ODI series against Afghanistan in the UAE, has been dropped,” BCB said in the statement.
