Matt Short Registers Fastest Ever-Hundred for Strikers in BBL History

Matt Short has slammed a 49-ball 100 for Adelaide Strikers during the BBL 2024-25 clash against Brisbane Heat and also becomes the BBL hundred for Strikers in the tournament’s history.

Short brought up his century with a four, which was his ninth of the innings and extended seven sixes. He broke the records of Travis Head‘s record of Strikers, where the all-rounder took 53 balls to score his ton against Sydney Sixers in 2015.

Matthew Short’s 109 runs off 54 deliveries as an opener, has helped his side to post a total of 251/5 by the end of 20 overs.  The explosive knock had shown his class, power hitting and sheer determination. His incredible innings came to an end when he was dismissed by Mitchell Swepson.

While attempting a slog sweep, Short timing missed and the fielder at depp mid-wicket made no mistake in taking the catch. He walked back to the Pavilion after hitting 10 fours and seven sixes.

Chris Lynn who opened along with Matt Short has scored 47 runs on 20 deliveries while Alex Ross’s 44* helped the side to set up a formidable total. Matthew Kuhnemann picked three wickets while Mitchell Swepson dimissed two wickets.

Currently David Warner is in the top place of the BBL 2025 most runs table while Jason Behendroff has secured top position in most wickets standings.

Adelaide Strikers are in the bottom of the points table with only two wins while while Brisbane Heat stands fourth in the standing with three wins.
