The New Zealand Cricketer Matt Henry replaces England Seamer David Willey in Lucknow Super Giants for the IPL 2024 season as the latter pulled out of the tournament due to personal reasons.

Matt Henry will be joining the LSG squad for his base price of INR 1.25 crores as David Willey Pulls out of the tournament. Willey, who was bought for INR 2 crores by the squad, was pulled out for personal reasons after it was said that he would miss the tournament’s first half.

The retired international Cricketer has previously plied his trade for the Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He has featured for New Zealand in 25 Tests, 82 ODIs, and 17 T20Is. The 32-year-old has claimed 151 wickets in 131 T20s with three four-wicket hauls.

Before Willer, players Gus Atkinson, Jason Roy, and Mark Wood also withdrew from the tournament from the 17th edition of the tournament. The Knight Riders named Dushmantha Chameera and Phil Salt as replacements for Jason Roy and Gus Atkinson. Meanwhile, Shamar Joseph replaced Mark Wood in the squad.

Coming to the tournament, KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants is scheduled to play in the 11th match of the IPL 2024 schedule against Shikhar Dhawan-led Punjab Kings

After suffering defeat in their first match against Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2024 campaign, Lucknow Super Giants will be playing their next match against Punjab Kings. KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran are the only half-centurions for the side during the match against Rajasthan. Naveen-ul-Haq picked two wickets in the match but couldn’t help the side to win the match.

On the other hand, Punjab Kings played two matches in the campaign where they secured victory in the match against Delhi Capitals while they suffered defeat in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Sam Curran scored 63 runs in the match against Delhi Capitals while Shikhar Dhawan was the only scorer for the side smashing 45 runs against RCB. Punjab Kings stands in fifth position while LSG stands at the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table

The 11th match of the IPL 2024 campaign will kickstart at 07:30 PM IST on March 30 at Ekana Sports City, Lucknow.
