England pace bowler Mark Wood has been ruled out of the first test against Pakistan owing to a hip injury sustained at the T20 World Cup. The first Test match will be played on December 1 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi.

England cricket team will play their remaining test series of the England tour of Pakistan 2022 where both teams are scheduled to play 7 T20Is and 3 Tests.
England won the T20I series by beating the host by 4-3 in the 7-match T20I series. The three tests will be played on December 01, 09, and 17 in Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Multan Cricket Stadium, and National Stadium respectively.
“Mark’s not going to make the first Test squad unfortunately because of his injury,” McCullum said. “We expect him to be ready for the second Test and otherwise we’ve got a full squad to pick from.”

Stuart Broad is missing the series for family reasons, with the 36-year-old recently becoming a father.
Ben Duckett and Keaton Jennings are vying to open the batting with Zak Crawley after Alex Lees was dropped, while Liam Livingstone, Will Jacks, and Rehan Ahmed could make their Test debuts during the series.
Leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed, 18, would become the youngest player to play Test cricket for England, surpassing Brian Close, who was 18 years 149 days when he played against New Zealand in July 1949.
