Litton Das will lead the 15-member squad for the three-match T20I leg of Bangladesh tour of West Indies starting on December 15.
After Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah’s retirement, Soumya Sarkar, Afif Hossain, Shamim Hossain Patwari, Nasum Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud and Ripon Mondol have been recalled to the side aiming to rebuild the Bangladesh team.
Najmul Shanto who led the T20I squad during the series against India, is currently on his recovery process from a groin injury that sidelined him Test and ODI series.
It will be interesting to seen if he regains the captaincy upon his return, considering his form in the short format.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) didn’t make Mehidy Hasan Miraz captain as he isn’t a regular in T20s, despite him being a stand-in-skipper for Tests and ODIs on this tour.
Towhid Hridoy, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam and Rakibul Hasan has been excluded from the squad.
With West Indies and Bangladesh are currently involved ODI series, the hosts secured a unassisable 2-0 lead and the final match of the series wil be played on Werner Park.Meanwhile, the T20I series will begin on December 16 at Arnos Vale Stadium.
