Laura Wolvaardt to lead South Africa in Women’s T20 World Cup 2024

Cricket South Africa has named Laura Wolvaardt as the captain of the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.

The ninth edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup was scheduled to be hosted by Bangladesh between October 03 and 20 this year. However owing to the political riot in the nation, the global tournament shifted to UAE.

A total of 10 teams will play 20 group-stage matches where the top 4 teams will advance to playoffs of the tournament. Teams were determined by the ICC Women’s T20I rankings and qualification event.

The entire tournament will be played across two venues in the UAE – the Dubai International Cricket Stadium and Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

The tournament will be played between ten teams which will be divided into two groups of five teams each. Each team will play against all others in their group, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout stage.
