The 18-year-old Kwena Maphaka has been added squad for the upcoming ODI series of the Pakistan tour of South Africa 2024.
South Africa has only three ODIs before the Champions trophy to make their last opportunity to play together. Though South Africa will play a tri-series in Pakistan which also includes New Zealand, in February, those matches will take place to close to the conclusion of the SA20 on February 20.
There are nine additions to the squad that last played the format, against Ireland in the UAE, including the return of Kagiso Rabada, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi, who played an ODI almost a year ago.
“The bowling line-up features one of the fastest in the game in KG, and this series offers another great opportunity for a young talent like Kwena to come in and learn first-hand from the best,” said South Africa head coach Rob Walter.
White-ball head coach Rob Walter has today announced a strong 15-player squad for the upcoming three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against Pakistan, scheduled from 17- 22 December.
