Kuldeep Yadav who missed a couple of matches in IPL 2024 due to a groin niggle, will be missing a crucial clash against Mumbai Indians on Sunday.
Kuldeep Yadav to miss MI Clash
Kuldeep Yadav featured in the first two matches of the IPL 2024 campaign against Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals and picked up three wickets. But he missed their next matches against Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders where they won against CSK but lost the match Kolkata Knight Riders.
“Kuldeep Yadav has picked up a groin niggle and is advised to rest. I am not sure when he will be ready again, but he is resting now,” an official said.
“There are plenty of matches to happen in this IPL so it’s good to rest for a few matches in the beginning as it’s World Cup year and there is no need to take a risk,” he said.
“No, he is not required to go to NCA as of now. Rest is just for precaution. He is already traveling with the DC squad and right now is in Mumbai where the team plays their next game against hosts Mumbai Indians on Sunday,” he added.
It is mandatory for the franchise to report niggles and injury concerns of the international player to the National Cricket Academy. Although he has been traveling with the side for all clashes, he will be missing the match against Mumbai Indians.
Kuldeep Yadav has been regular across all formats recently and he was one of the key players of Delhi Capitals and also for the Indian side. With the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 nearing, BCCI will not risk their key spinner.
