India won the third T20I match of the West Indies Tour 2023, where West Indies leads the series 2-1. In the match, India’s left-arm fast bowler Kuldeep Yadav, Suryakumar Yadav, and Tilak Varma broke multiple records on Tuesday.
Fastest Indian to take 50 T20I wickets
Kuldeep Yadav created a record in the first innings of the third T20I match against West Indies at Providence Stadium in Guyana. He becomes the quickest bowler to reach 50 wickets in men’s T20Is for India in 30 matches.
Yuzvendra Chahal was the previous record holder claiming 50 wickets in T20Is for India. Sri Lanka’s spinner Ajantha Mendis holds the overall record of claiming the fastest 50 wickets in T20I.
He scalped 50 wickets in 26 matches. He also scored the record of reaching 50 wickets in fewer balls (600).
In the third T20I match, Kuldeep had scalped three wickets while Axar Patel and Mukesh Kumar scalped one wicket each. Brandon King scored 42 runs out of 42 deliveries and Rovman Powell scored 40 runs in 19 balls.
SKY completes 100 T20I Sixes
Suryakumar Yadav had completed 100 T20I sixes. He took 49 innings to reach the landmark and joins Chris Gayle in second place on the list. Evin Lewis tops the list with achieving the landmark in 48 innings.
Tilak Varma scored 139 runs in 3 games
On the other hand, Tilak Varma has a cumulative 139 runs in three games, the joint second-most runs by an Indian in the first three T20I innings.
On winning the toss, West Indies opt to bat with a good start as the openers Kyle Mayers and Brandon King kept scoring runs against Indian bowlers.
Axar Patel’s bowling was good as the batters were dismissed for 25 runs in the 8th over of the game. Johnson Charles, the right-handed batter came to bat where Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Charles for 14 runs. After his dismissal, Nicholas Pooran, the left-handed batter then came out to bat.
Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Pooran on 20 runs. Kuldeep struck twice to dismiss Pooran and Brandon King in the 15th over.
Mukesh Kumar scalped the wicket of Shimron Hetmyer for 9 runs in the 18th over. Rovman Powell had scored 17 runs on Arshdeep Singh with two sixes. In the last over, Rovman Powell had a six in Mukesh’s over and contributed to his team with a score of 159/5.
IND vs WI 3rd T20I
India had the victory in the 3rd T20I match against West Indies to stay alive in the T20I series where West Indies leads the series 2-1. Suryakumar Yadav had scored 83 runs out of 44 deliveries for India home by seven wickets.
Indian captain Hardik Pandya completed the game with six to win the third match of the five-match T20I series with seven wickets. Tilak Varma had scored an unbeaten 49 runs on 37 deliveries as India chased the target with 13 balls remaining in their innings.
Alzarri Joseph had scalped two wickets Where Shubman Gill was sent out with 6 runs on the 5th over and Suryakumar Yadav was sent out on the 13th over.
Both teams are preparing for the 4th T20I Test which is scheduled to play on August 12, 2023, at Central Broward Regional Park.
