KL Rahul set to join LSG Ahead of IPL 2024
The National Cricket Academy has declared KL Rahul to be fit ahead of the Indian Premier League. It is understood that BCCI’s medical team has advised Rahul not to keep wicket in the initial stages of the tournament.
He was expected to leave for Lucknow on March 20 but given the pre-IPL Captains meet on March 21 at Chennai, he will join the side after that.
“He is fit and can join the IPL franchise in the coming days. He suffered pain in the quadriceps and got an injection too. He went through his rehabilitation and the NCA has now declared him fit. However, he has been advised not to take on the wicket-keeping role immediately,” said a source.
The LSG skipper has been out of action since the first test of England’s tour of India where the hosts hammered the visitors to seal victory 4-1 in the series.
After the first test, he complained of discomfort in his right quadriceps and was later ruled out of the entire series. BCCI has claimed that KL Rahul has reached 90% of his fitness ahead of the third test but later decided to consult a specialist in London.
Coming to the tournament, all teams have started their preparations for the tournament which is set to commence on March 22. All Franchises will be looking for a triumph in the upcoming tournament.
