LSG trolls KL Rahul for his Poor Strike Rate

Lucknow Super Giants are sporty when it comes to criticism, even if it has been on their captain, KL Rahul. They shared a video on Monday, where KL Rahul and influencer Shubman Gaur can be seen engaged in banter on the former’s strike rate after the side defeated Gujarat for their third successive win in IPL 2024.

KL Rahul scored 33 runs on 31 deliveries with only three boundaries but held the top order together after Gujarat reduced them to 18 for 2. Quinton de Kock and Devdutt Padikkal were sent out early.

Rahul has made a partnership with all-rounder Marcus Stoinis who hit 43 runs on 58 deliveries helping LSG to post 163 runs in 20 overs.

“Congrats, Rahul bhai. I think you should become India’s next Defence Minister,” Shubham Gaur can be seen saying in the video.

To which Rahul replied, “You are also making fun of the strike rate.”

“No, No, you are successfully defending scores in the range of 160s. That’s why,” said the influencer.

KL Rahul has scored 128 runs in four matches with a strike rate of 128.57 so far in IPL 2024. The WK-Batter has often faced criticism on his strike rate who amassed 4289 runs so far in the IPL with an overall strike rate of 134.24.

LSG successfully defended a total of 160 for the 13th time. KL Rahul was one of the key players at LSG’s win on Sunday clash. Despite losing Mayank Yadav in the bowling unit, they managed to pull out a victory against Gujarat Titans.

After the victory, LSG secured the third spot in the IPL 2024 points table securing 6 points in the four matches they played. LSG will be playing their next match against Delhi Capitals on April 12 at Ekana Sports City, Lucknow.
