While the participation of the New Zealand batter in the upcoming World Cup 2023 has not been confirmed yet but his recent videos on social media went viral and fans starts to believe that Kane might play in World Cup 2023 in India.

The World Cup 2023 is scheduled to kickstart on October 5 with the final game on November 19 and the tournament will be hosted by India. It is worth mentioning that it is the first time the event is held entirely in India; three previous editions were partially hosted there – 1987, 1996, and 2011. The event will be played across 10 different venues in India.

Kane Williamson was roped in by Gujarat Titans for INR 2 crores in IPL 2023 Auction after being released by his former franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Speaking on Kane Williamson’s injury, the right-handed batter sustained a knee injury while attempting a catch during Gujarat Titans’ opening match against CSK at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Later, the team management confirms that Kane Williamson was ruled out of the entire season following his knee injury.

Ahead of the World Cup 2023, his return to the national team becomes questionable owing to the seriousness of the injury. But New Zealand’s official Twitter handle shared a video of himself opening up about his injury rehab.

In the video, Kane Williamson said: “Great to see some of the guys and some of the new faces too. And so, yeah, I was looking forward to, the team camp. Nice to have it here at home as well in the mountain and get into some training and just reconnect a little bit nice to be on the bike doing fitness sessions on the bike and progress it”.

“From that lower level staff where it’s really, really controlled to, you know, getting better with my movement and been able to incorporate some of the batting aspects, you know, where you move your feet a little bit more. But, yeah, still a bit of work to do. So just keep working hard, really”.

New Zealand Coach Gary Stead opens on the return of Kane Williamson and said he is magically here.

“It’s nice seeing him with a bat in his hand and hitting balls again. And, all be it it’s not right at the level that he is to perform internationally”.

“It’s set certainly on the road to recovery.  You know, there’s usually silver linings and injuries on how you look at them and for to have him keep saying, Hey, I’m invested in this team, and I, and I really want to keep playing for the team and he is magically here”.

As per the New Zealand World Cup 2023 schedule, the Blackcaps will play their first game of the tournament against England on October 5 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
