New Zealand star batter Kane Williamson picks Rohit Sharma as the one batter who could score a Double Hundred in the T20 format of the game.
Scoring a double century in the T20 format is not as easy as one thinks. It requires abundant confidence with an aggressive batting style from the player. With a total of 120 deliveries allotted for a team, scoring a hundred seems to be a massive task for the players.
But many of the players have eased the task by scoring it in a few deliveries. But a double century in T20 format still remains unachieved in cricket history.
Frequently, many cricketer experts, former cricketers and current players will pick the player who can score the first double-century in T20 based on their observations. KIWI batter Kane Williamson joined the list and picked Indian batter Rohit Sharma as the probable player to score the first double hundred of the T20 format.
Speaking of Rohit, he is the only batter in cricket history to score maximum double centuries in the ODI format of the game. The Indian starwalt scored a total of three double centuries in the ODI and crowns the top position on the list.
The right-hander also scored the highest-ever ODI score by scoring a whopping 264 runs against Sri Lanka in Eden Gardens on 13 Nov 2014. Though Rohit has a handful of records in the ODI format, he still lags in T20 format.
Rohit Sharma played more than 400 T20 games and scored more than 11000 runs with a highest score of 121 not out.
With his current form in the ongoing IPL, Rohit Sharma is expected to execute an outstanding performance in the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 scheduled to be played in the USA and West Indies between June 1 and June 29.
As far as the T20 format is concerned, West Indies legend Chris Gayle holds the record for scoring the highest T20 score. Gayle scored an unbeaten 175 from 66 deliveries in an IPL match while playing for RCB against Pune Warriors on 23 April 2013.
Gayel’s unbeaten 175 comes at a strike rate of 265.15 which includes 13 boundaries and 17 sixes.
