The wk-batter Josh Inglis will lead the squad in the third ODI and T20I in Pakistan tour of Australia as Test players prioritise preparations for the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
Inglis will take over the leadership from Pat Cummins, who will be missing the final ODI along with Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith as they are set to prepare for the test program.
Meanwhile, pace bowlers Spencer Johnson and Xavier Bartlett have been added to the ODI squad as well as WK-batter Josh Phillipe while another pacer, Lance Morris became part of the Australia squad for the series opener in Melbourne while Hazlewood was on Sheffield Shield duties.

With Cummins taking over the test preparations, and Australia T20I captain Mitchell Marsh on Paternity leave, Inglis will take over the captaincy in both the 50-over and T20 formats for the first time.
He has previously captained the Prime Minister’s Xl side against West Indies in 2022 which resulted in a draw.
“Josh is an integral member of the ODI and T20I teams and a highly respected player on and off the field,” said George Bailey.
“He has led Australia A previously and will bring strong tactical nous and a positive approach to the role.
“Josh will receive great support from the likes of Matt Short and Adam Zampa, along with senior players including Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis.”
Australia won the first match of the ODI series and will be playing their second match on November 08 at Adelaide Oval.
