The US has lost two matches in the Super 8s match against South Africa and West Indies and will be looking for a victory in the match. On the other hand, England is playing their last Super 8 match with one victory and one defeat in the matches against West Indies and South Africa.

Coming to the match, England won the toss and opted to bowl. Steven Taylor and Andries Gous started the innings while Reece Topley opened the bowling attack. Topley picked the first wicket for England. Andries Gous scored 8 runs before being dismissed in a delivery where he didn’t get the timing right.
Philip Salt went for the catch in the deep Square and eventually succeeded in it. With the dismissal of Steven Taylor for 12 runs by Sam Curran. Adil Rashid picked the wickets of Aaron Jones and Nitish Kumar for 10 and 30 runs respectively. With the dismissal of Milind Kumar’s four runs, the United States lost five wickets for 88 runs.
Harmeet Singh was sent out for 21 runs while Corey Anderson was sent out of for 29 runs. with the dismissal of Corey, the US lost seven wickets for 115 runs in the 19th over. With Chris Jordan’s three-wicket haul, the United States lost all 10 wickets scoring 115 runs by the end of 20 overs.
With the target of 116 runs, England openers Philip Salt and Jos Buttler forged a 117-run partnership to win the match in the 10th over. Philip Salt scored 25 runs on 21 deliveries while Jos Buttler scored 83 runs in 38 deliveries. In the 9th over of their innings, Buttler smashed five sixes and amassed 32 runs in the over. In the fourth delivery of the 10th over, England scored 117 runs for wicketless and won the match by 10 wickets.
