Joe Root hits 10th Test century against India
Joe Root silenced the critics he faced after the third test of the ongoing tour, after scoring a triple-digit score on day 01 at Ranchi. He single-handedly balanced the collapse of England’s batting order as he smashed his 31st test century in the match.
England struggled to score runs before the lunch break, but the scenario was entirely different when Joe Root and Ben Foakes joined forces to balance the score on the board.
They batted for 36 overs and went wicketless to produce stability in the match. Root has created a record of the first cricketer to register 10-test centuries against India.
He surpassed Australia’s Steve Smith who has recorded 9 centuries against India in test format.
