India’s middle order batter Jemimah Rodrigues and pacer Shikha Pandey have been roped in by Trinbago Knight Riders for the upcoming Women’s Caribbean Premier League 2024.
Jemimah Rodrigues, Shikha to play for Knight Riders in WCPL 2024
The edition of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League is set to be played between August 21 and 29 in the West Indies. A total of seven matches will be played between three teams and the top two teams will play the grand final for the trophy.
Barbados Royals are the defending champions, they won their maiden title by beating Guyana Amazon Warriors in the WCPL 2023 final by 8 runs.
. All matches of the CPL 2024 will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in San Fernando, Trinidad.
It is worth mentioning, that Shreyanka Patil became the first Indian Women cricketer to feature in the league when she was picked up by Guyana Amazon Warriors for the 2023 edition of the tournament.
Trinbago Knight Riders will also features former Australian captain Meg Lanning and all-rounder Jess Jonassen as the other prominent signings for the season.
In the previous season, Trinbago Knight Riders managed to register only one victory out of their four matches and failed to qualify for the final. Their only victory came against Barbados Royals in their second meet.
Trinbago Knight Riders will play their first match of the 2024 Women’s Caribbean Premier League on August 22 against Barbados Royals in Brian Lara Cricket Academy.
