The Indian player who plays for Sussex in the County Championship made a five-wicket haul in the match against Leicestershire.
Jaydev Unadkat records five-fors in County Championship
The India seamer Jaydev Unadkat took an overall nine wickets for Sussex against Leicestershire to help them win by 15 runs in the Division Two match. The left-arm pacer took three wickets in the first innings and helped Sussex to revive the hopes of promotion to Division One.
Jaydev Unadkat has played a total of 117 List A matches where he dismissed 169 wickets with an average of 28.89 and an economy of 4.75. He had played 103 first-class matches and picked up 382 wickets at an average of 22.58 and an economy of 2.94.
The 31-year-old player made his county Championship debut against Durham on September 3 at Chester-le-Street where Durham won the match by seven wickets.
Cheteshwar Pujara who is also Sussex’s captain scored 26 and 23 runs in the game. He also took an impressive catch dismissing Rishi Patel. In the second innings of Leicestershire, Unadkat dismissed Sol Budinger with seven runs on lbw. He then dismissed Rehan Ahmed and Ben Cox with 29 and 58 runs.
On the other hand, Jayant Yadav playing in Division One also returned with a five-wicket haul in the game between Middlesex and Lancashire. He joined the Middlesex franchise for playing the last four matches in the County Championships.
The Off-Spinner all-rounder Jayant Yadav has been playing for Haryana and had played two games for Warwickshire last season. The 33-year-old player had featured in many games for India out of which his Test performance in the 2016-17 season remains his career best.
He is a player who relied on his own strength and accuracy rather than variations in bowling. His batting skill in the long format adds an advantage to his profile.
Jayant Yadav had played 6 test matches, taking 16 wickets for 29.06 and scoring 248 runs. His best figure was against New Zealand where he had 4/49 in December 2021, at Wankhede Stadium.
He has taken 205 wickets in his first-class career, with a best of 7/58 in the Ranji Trophy in 2019-20.
Another excellent performance from the leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal made his county debut this season for Kent against Nottinghamshire in a Division One match. He displayed his skills as he dismissed a total of five wickets with 3/63 in the 1st innings and 2/43 in the second Innings at Canterbury.
Sussex will be facing Derbyshire in the first-class Division on September 19 at County Ground, Derby.
