Ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah was named vice-captain of the India Squad for New Zealand tests starting next week. India has named a strong squad for the three-match test series against New Zealand at home, which is part of the WTC cycle.
Rohit Sharma will lead the side, while left-arm pacer Yash Dayal was the only player missing out on the test squad. India will be taking on New Zealand with a heaving bowling unit.
Spinners like Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav have been named in the squad while the Pacer unit will have Jasprit Bumrah, Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj.

The same batting group is similar to the one that was picked for the Bangladesh series. Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel are the wicketkeeping options in the squad.
Meanwhile, India has also named three pacers and all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy as travelling reserves for this series. Mayank Yadav, Harshit Rana and Prasidh Krishna are the fast bowling reserves.
Earlier this week, NZC named the New Zealand Squad for the India tests where Kane Williamson will be missing the first test due to a groin strain.
India will be taking on New Zealand after a fresh dominating victory against Bangladesh at home. Meanwhile, New Zealand suffered a clean sweep against Sri Lanka and will be opting for a victory to keep in the WTC competition.
India is currently on top of the WTC points table, with 74.24 per cent from 11 Test matches. India has the remaining eight tests to play and will take them to 85.09%.
The first match of the New Zealand Test series will begin on October 16 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
